Monica Nandwani, DNP, RN, FNP-BC began her gastroenterology advanced practice provider career at Johns Hopkins where she completed a year-long gastroenterology nurse practitioner fellowship, the first of its kind, in 2011. Monica worked at the Center for Neurogastroenterology and Motility at Johns Hopkins until 2016 where she interpreted motility studies including esophageal manometry, 24 hour pH impedance testing, and anorectal manometry.
In 2016, Monica moved to Northern California to assume the role as the first nurse practitioner at the Stanford Esophagus Center. At present, Monica serves as the APP Director for Professional Practice as part of the Center for Advanced Practice team.
Monica completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nursing at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at the Duke University School of Nursing. Monica is passionate about education, APP professional development, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice. She has presented at various national conferences and co-authored a variety of publications on topics including APP Onboarding, APP professional fulfillment, GERD, gastroparesis, and esophageal dysmotility. In 2022, Monica was awarded the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) inaugural NP/PA Award for Clinical Excellence.
